Antral Erosions
Image 1 shows the antrum or outlet of the stomach. There are
many black-based erosions here. This means that the lining of the
stomach has been injured and you see a black blood clot in the
base of the erosions. Image 2 shows small white-based erosions
next to the dark hole called the pylorus, which is the outlet to
the stomach. The bright white spots are light reflection while the
bubbly white areas are swallowed saliva. These erosions can lead
to ulcers. Aspirin or any of the arthritis medicines such as
ibuprofen, Naprosyn, Motrin, Advil, Voltaren and Feldene can cause
such erosions.
