Scott A. Gunder, MD
Dr. Scott Gunder was a central Pennsylvania native growing up in Mechanicsburg and graduating from Mechanicsburg High School. He received his doctor of medicine from Hahnemann University. His internal medicine residency was completed at Pennsylvania State University and his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of Maryland. He worked as a Clinical Instructor of Gastroenterology at Pennsylvania State University. In 1992 he joined the gastroenterology practice of Dr. Steven Siegelbaum.
Dr. Scott Gunder was board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He served as Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Pinnacle Health and was the President of the Dauphin County Medical Society.
Dr. Gunder lost a short battle with cancer in 2000 and died at the young age of 39. He was revered by his colleagues and cherished by his patients. To honor his years of service and maintain his memory; friends, family and medical colleagues worked with the Dauphin County Medical Society and created a scholarship fund. Each year a Pennsylvania State medical student is awarded a scholarship in his memory.
